Matry's Day observed: Mahatma Ghandhi remembered on his death Anniversary

The teachers, students, and non-teaching staff of Thoubal College solemnly observed Martyrs’ Day on 30 January 2026 to honour the supreme sacrifices made by the martyrs for the nation.

The observance was marked by a two-minute silence at 11:00 A.M. in memory of the departed souls, reflecting collective respect and gratitude for their courage and patriotism. The moment of silence served as a reminder of the values of unity, peace, and national service upheld by leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi.

The programme continued with brief talks by Prof. A. Nabachandra, principal Thoubal College, and by Dr. G. Indrajit Sharma of History Dept. on the legacy of Gandhi. The gathering renewed commitment among the college community to uphold the ideals of the freedom struggle and contribute responsibly to the nation’s progress.
