Thoubal College organized a one-day symposium on 25 May 2026 at the college's Multipurpose Hall as part of the World Environment Day 2026 celebration. It was jointly organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the Green Audit Committee, and the Department of Environmental Science. The event brought together faculty, students, and distinguished guests under the inspiring theme "Inspired by nature, for climate, for our future."
The symposium commenced with a formal welcome programme followed by watering of the plants on the stage in lieu of lighting lamps. The gathering was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries who shared their insights on pressing environmental concerns, climate resilience, and the imperative for collective action rooted in the wisdom of nature. The principal of the college, Prof. Nabachandra Singh graced his presence as the Chief Guest, Dr. N. Ibobi Singh as the President, and Dr. L. Akendrajit and Dr. Th Tomba Singh together as Guest of Honours.
Scholarly presentations by nine students of the college from various departents formed the core of the day's programme. Participants explored themes of biodiversity, indigenous ecological knowledge, climate adaptation, and sustainable living — drawing on nature as both teacher and solution. The event concluded with a collective pledge to uphold environmental responsibility in daily life and academic pursuits.
